FAQ — for grown-ups 🎉

How Snark Kids works, the rules, and how we keep it safe — the parent-friendly rundown.

How is Snark Kids different from the grown-up version?

It’s built for kids and celebrations, not roasting. The language is “guest of honor,” not “roast,” and the whole thing is one simple game: take turns recording fun videos and pass the phone around. No text, no ratings, no sharing to strangers.

What are the rules?

Three easy ones: 1) type your first name, 2) record one short, fun (or funny, or sweet) video for the guest of honor, 3) pass the phone to the next friend so everyone gets a turn. Be kind, keep it short (up to 60 seconds), and ask a grown-up if you need help.

How does “pass the phone” recording work?

One phone does it all. A kid records their clip, taps “Add my video,” and the screen says “Pass the phone to the next friend!” The next kid taps “Next friend records,” types their name, and records theirs. Repeat until everyone’s had a turn — perfect for a party with one adult’s phone.

Do you store or keep the kids’ videos?

No — not on our side. Kids’ videos are never shown in our admin tools, and they auto-delete after 30 days. We don’t keep them. The only person with lasting access is the grown-up host, through their private reel link and 4-digit host code.

Then how do we (the family) keep the video?

The grown-up who set it up gets a private reel link (and a 4-digit host code by email). Open it any time within the 30 days to play or download the finished reel and save it wherever you like. After that it’s gone from our servers — so grab it before then.

Can we record videos without an internet connection or as a group at once?

Everyone records on the same phone, one after another, so you only need that one phone online to upload. It’s made for a real room of kids sharing a device — no one needs their own phone or account.

Can a friend who isn’t here join in?

Yes — tap “Share with a friend” and it sends the same link. They can record a video from wherever they are, and it lands in the same reel.

Can a grown-up remove a video?

Yes. The host gets a 4-digit code to delete any clip from the wall — handy if a video is too long, too silly, or someone changes their mind.

Is it really free?

Yes. Recording and watching are free. Only if a grown-up wants the polished, watermark-free download is there an optional $9 keepsake — same as the rest of Snark.
